The Beard Grows Unevenly: How to Overcome This Problem

From time to time, every man feels an irresistible desire to grow a beard. Especially if representatives of the stronger sex are scurrying around with clearly defined dense facial hair. However, not everyone is lucky enough to have evenly growing hairs with a clear shape.

Here are the reasons why the beard grows unevenly:

  1. The puberty hasn’t ended yet. You’ll have to wait a few months because the bristles are formed until about 18 years old.
  2. Hormonal disorders associated with insufficient production of testosterone in the body.
  3. Taking medications with side effects that affect the growth of bristles.
  4. Chronic or infectious diseases: psoriasis, diabetes mellitus, etc.
  5. Using a bad shaving machine, the shaving procedure itself is performed incorrectly.
  6. Heredity. One’s father and grandfather’s beards seem to have grown unevenly too.
  7. National peculiarity. If there are natives of Asia in the family, there may be issues with facial hair, since Asians almost lack it.
  8. Bad habits, poor nutrition.

Sometimes, the mustache grows quickly and without bald spots — unlike the stubble on the chin, cheeks and neck. The frequency of shaving doesn’t affect the uneven growth of the beard. Many men make a mistake, believing that frequent shaving can solve their problem. As a result, their villi become stiffer but the bald spots fail to disappear.

What to do if your beard grows unevenly:

  1. Normalize your nutrition. Enrich your diet with fresh vegetables and fruits, fish meals and dairy products. Eat nuts and dried fruits at least two times per week.
  2. Avoid conflict situations and stress. Get rid of harmful habits, such as smoking and excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages.
  3. Practice sports reasonably, without exhausting yourself. This is especially relevant for men who want to build muscle mass.
  4. Take a full vitamin complex for a month every six months.
  5. Thoroughly take care of the bristles to enable your beard to grow evenly. To do this, cleanse your skin and villi every day from dirt, dust and sebaceous gland secretions. Moisturize the skin and nourish it with cosmetics. Rub a mixture of castor and burdock oils into the skin twice per week and leave it overnight. In the morning, wash off the oil with warm water and facial foam. Periodically massage your skin and use peeling to remove dead cells.

In pharmacies, you can buy dedicated drugs that stimulate beard growth. But before purchasing them, you should consult with a trichologist. The doctor may prescribe an examination to find out exactly why your beard is growing unevenly. Personalized treatment will let you get rid of the problem once and forever.
