Mayonnaise for Hair: Benefits and Recipes for Masks

Some people refuse to eat mayonnaise, considering it harmful. However, it’s only harmful after heat treatment, like many other food products. This product contains nutrients that positively affect the condition of curls and skin: egg yolks, vegetable oils, mustard, and lemon juice. As a supplement, manufacturers include a little salt and sugar in it. Sometimes, they replace lemon juice with vinegar.

How mayonnaise masks affect curls:

  1. Improve blood supply to the skin
  2. Dilate blood vessels
  3. Nourish hair follicles
  4. Give shine, elasticity, and volume to hair
  5. Prevent hair breakage and hair loss

Of course, homemade mayonnaise for hair is the best option. However, the one that you buy in a store can be beneficial too. Due to the oil content, it’s enough to apply only the shampoo to wash out the hair mask. If you apply the composition to the tips of your hair, you can limit yourself to rinsing it off.

How to make a hair mask from mayonnaise:

If your hair is split, it’s better to limit the application to the tips. The composition will make the tips alive and smooth, and the strands won’t be frizzy. First, mix 2 heaped tablespoons of the mass with 1 teaspoon of cream. Then, use a brush to distribute it over the lower part of your curls. Twist the tips into a tail. After 25 minutes, wash it off with water without shampoo. Rinse your hair with a mixture of vinegar and water, taken in equal proportions. It’s advisable to drape a towel over your shoulders to prevent staining your clothes in the process.

Owners of damaged dry hair should apply the composition to their entire head. Mix 0.5 cups of the product in a container with 1 tablespoon of sour cream. Distribute the mass with a comb. Put on a plastic shower cap to prevent the drops that flow from the curls from getting onto your clothes. Wash it off after 40 minutes.

Ladies with blonde hair should use an alternative recipe for a mayonnaise hair mask. In a glass container, mix 5 tablespoons of the product with 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and 2 teaspoons of kefir. Apply the mass for an hour. Cover your head with a film and wrap it with a towel on top. The composition will warm up slightly, nourishing your hair follicles with beneficial components.

If your strands fall out abundantly and grow slowly, it won’t hurt to make a mask of mayonnaise with honey. Stir 1 teaspoon of honey in 50 ml of the product. You can melt honey in a water bath in advance if it has candied. Rub the product into the roots of your hair. Comb it over the strands, fixed in a bundle, and wash it off after 1-2 hours.

It’s undesirable to buy a budget product that contains a lot of additives. For cosmetic purposes, you need a quality product made from natural ingredients.
