6 Ways to Lighten Your Hair with the Help of Medicinal Chamomile
You can lighten your light brown or ash-colored hair without using toning balms, shampoos, or dye. All you need is chamomile, which can be purchased at any pharmacy. When used properly, chamomile not only lightens your hair but also improves its overall health. Your hair will become stronger, and split ends will reduce. The healthy shine of your hair will attract attention.
Ways to Lighten Your Hair with Chamomile:
- Chamomile Rinse:
Boil 2 liters of water and add 3 tablespoons of dried chamomile flowers. Reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer with the lid on for 15 minutes. Once it cools, add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice. Wash your hair with shampoo, but skip the balm, as it can coat the hair and prevent the chamomile from fully penetrating. After washing, gently squeeze out the excess water from your hair without being too rough. Rinse your hair with the chamomile solution, pouring it over gradually instead of all at once. Allow your hair to dry naturally for best results. - Chamomile and Glycerin Treatment:
Add 2 tablespoons of chamomile flowers to a saucepan with 0.3 liters of water. Bring it to a boil, then turn off the heat and cover it. After 1-2 hours, strain the liquid and add 2 teaspoons of glycerin. Apply the mixture to dry, clean hair, massaging it into your scalp. Wrap your head with plastic wrap and leave it on for an hour before rinsing it off and letting your hair dry. - Chamomile and Vodka Lightener:
Mix 200 ml of vodka with 2 tablespoons of dried chamomile flowers and let the mixture sit for two weeks. After that, add 30 ml of hydrogen peroxide. Apply the solution to your hair using a sponge, making sure to cover it from roots to ends. Leave it on for 15 minutes, then wash your hair as usual. - Chamomile Vodka Infusion:
Fill a 200-300 ml jar with vodka and add 30 grams of dried chamomile. Seal the jar and place it in a dark spot for a week. Every 2-3 weeks, apply the infusion to your unwashed hair using a cotton ball or tampon, and leave it in for 2-3 hours. You can do this before bed, just make sure your hair dries slightly. Afterward, wash your hair and use a moisturizing mask or balm to condition it. - Chamomile and Olive Oil Mask:
Boil 0.2 liters of water and add 25 grams of dried chamomile. Let the mixture steep for an hour. Then, stir in 2 tablespoons of olive oil and apply the mask to your hair. Leave it on for 1-2 hours before rinsing it out with shampoo. This method is particularly beneficial if your hair is dry or prone to splitting, as the oil will provide extra moisture. - Chamomile and Lime Flower Rinse:
Mix 1 tablespoon of lime flowers with 1 tablespoon of chamomile. Boil the mixture in 1 liter of water. Once it cools, use it as a rinse for clean hair. You won’t need to wash this rinse out, so make sure your hair is free of any product or residue beforehand.
Consistency Is Key:
For optimal results, use a chamomile treatment at least once per week for three months. Keep in mind that the lightening effects may not be noticeable after just one use, but with consistent application, you will start to see results over time.
